These are hand sanded to a fine grit to protect the surface from juices.  The finish also creates a tough barrier and will hold up to sharp knives.  Each board comes with a jar of natural sealant to keep the wood from drying out and cracking, it will also help seal it from produce juices soaking in. Each one comes with slip resistant "feet" and stainless steel screws so that you have a solid secure surface to cut on. This board does not have a juice edge.
